Clinically proven since 1985, the unique dental implants and clinical techniques used in the Bicon implant system have made this type of implants a leading treatment option in the field of implant dentistry. Bicon dental implants are often less costly, more reliable and require fewer overall appointments to complete than traditional implants or alternative treatment options, such as restoring teeth with root canal therapy or a fixed dental prosthesis.
The Bicon implant system uses short implants, sometimes referred to as mini dental implants, which reduces the chances that you will need a procedure, such as a bone graft, prior to having your implants placed. Bicon implants also use a locking taper to secure the implant rather than a screw, which reduces the chances of the implant loosening or breaking. A special bacterial seal is also applied to ensure a hygienic treatment and avoid the odors and tastes associated with traditional implant posts.
When you receive a Bicon implant, the implant post will be placed into your jawbone to replace the missing tooth root. Your implant placement procedure can usually be performed in under an hour. A period of healing will then follow to allow the implant post to integrate with your supporting bone. The length of this healing time may vary, but on average, it lasts between two and six months. After you have healed, we will then be able to provide you with an implant restoration to cap the post and complete your treatment. Your implant restoration may be a single crown, a bridge or a denture, depending on your individual needs.
